Weird Night
Well, I had to go to Boston last night for a fairly useless band rehersal, but it was important to go to one before the Hawaii trip. Anyways, I got home a little after 11 last night and there was an ambulance and police officer with a very bright flashlight just past the intersection where my driveway is. I didn't really think too much about it because Geoff and I were just commenting the other day that we are suprised there aren't more accidents right there as its a 3 way intersection, and particularly now with the grass at the sides of the road all grown up, it is hard to see if anyone is coming.
Anyways, I pretty much had nothing but getting to bed on my mind, so I just proceeded up the driveway, went inside and turned lights off on my way up. Well, as I was turning the living room light off, I noticed that the ambulance was pulling away, and the cop was walking up our drive looking in the bushes/wooded area at the lower end of it. But he turned around and left and I went to bed. Geoff woke up long enough for me to tell him a bit about the commotion, and then fell asleep again. I was almost out, when I sensed lights in our driveway. I woke Geoff up and told him there was a car in the drive. Took him a moment or two to come too, by which time I had gotten closer to the window and found out it was a police cruiser and that an officer was getting out. Good thing I told Geoff that because he'd already grabbed his gun! He went down to talk to them, and it turns out there were 3 cruisers in the drive, and they were walking around our yard. Apparently they were looking for someone, and the discription of our house, matched that of the house next door, which from the scanner we found out was where they went next.
All kind of creepy. Now I have to wait for the police log in the paper to find out what was going on.

Yeah, that's not exactly an ideal recipe for getting a good night's sleep. I hope you were able to get some rest after that.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Oh my, Katy!
Nerve-wracking for sure! We have occasional incidents here which creep me out. Esp. since we live about 3 miles from a federal prison (the one where The Unibomber was held, in fact!) Back in May the neighborhood was surrounded by cops and they had a helicopter and everything searching for someone...I was worried it was an escaped convict - but luckily it was just a guy who had brought his stoned girlfriend to the ER , and she made allegations of domestic violence - so he fled the hospital on foot wearing nothing but a trash bag so instead of a violent convict, it was a run-of-the-mill weirdo let us know what it was all about when you find out...

Oh yeah, I feel much better with guys wearing trash bags running around!
We are guessing hit and run type thing, but could be anything. This guy's brother was a year ahead of me in school and has been in prison for drug posession several times, and from what Geoff tells me, his little brother wasn't much better.
