Paging Gloria!

Post by Polly »

Hi Gloria,

I noted your comment in Ant's recent post:

"I do feel like I've turned a corner. I'm having only 1-2 BMs a day, always Normans or near-Normans. I've been at this point before, so I'm not getting too excited. The most encouraging news is that my mouth sores are starting to diminish. Generally speaking I sometimes, but not always, get a tiny one after I eat avocado (fruit with the lowest fructose), and it goes away within a day. I'm still not sure about rice. I'd love to eat it again, but I don't want to "rock the boat." I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost anymore, either. All in all, I have hope again."

What wonderful news! I debated about posting this because after all you have been through, I don't want to jinx anything. As we know, our disease can be very fickle and humbling. And, as you said, you have been here before, only to experience another set back. :bricks: But my impression is that you are gradually experiencing more and more success and fewer and fewer setbacks. So I am cautiously optimistic.

Gloria, if anyone is an unsung hero of this board, it is you. You have had such a "brittle" case of MC, and yet you have soldiered on in such a good natured way. Your persistence (and yes patience) have really set the bar at an alltime high. And you will forever be an inspiration for those with extremely recalcitrant cases of MC/food intolerances.

with love, respect, and admiration,

Polly

Gloria,

Polly's post is so well-written, that as verbose as I usually am, I don't see any way to improve it. All I can say is that it expresses my sentiments, exactly.

My hat's off to you,
Tex

Gloria, amen to what Polly said. She expressed my exact feelings about you. You have encouraged us all and been a cheerleader for us when you yourself have been suffering. It takes a special person to be able to rise above their own suffering, lift others, and rejoice with them when they have success and you yourself are still struggling. I admire you so much and thank you for all the times you have pulled me up and helped me get back on track and for sharing all your wisdom and experience. You have helped countless members of this board and others who just view the posts by your compassionate, loving example. Love, JoAnn

Well, I'm pretty speechless. I appreciate your very kind comments. I attribute any success I have had (and hope to have) to this board and the tireless efforts everyone puts forth to help each other.

You are all an inspiration to me.

Dear Gloria

I agree with what everyone says here. You, your long struggle and, above all, generous nature continues to guide, guard and encourage. Thank you, Ant

Polly said it so eloquently and I can't add anything but to say that through thick, thin, good and bad you have always been there for everyone and the knowledge you have imparted is so valuable. Hope the corner has been turned.

Love, Maggie
