Tessa,
Thanks for the yummies! They sound so good. It really helps to see pictures too! What a neat way to translate!

Tex,
Thanks for the link for conversions. Never did learn that in school.

Hi Tessa,

I will echo the Yummy vote. Will try them after we get back home from England, especially the tart.

Love, Maggie

Thanks, Tessa!

These look delicious! What do you substitute for the butter in the almond torte? (I know you are intolerant to casein).

Love,

Polly

Thanks for your acceptance, it is nice to see recipes are useful (not only for me)

Polly, the "margarine" is not exactly butter. At least what I am using. It does not contain any dairy and therefore it is Ok for me. Our gluten Society in Spain listed the one I use as GF (I am not sure if you can´t find it in the USA, it is called MARGARINA FLORA)
If someone has intolerance to dairy and cannot cannot eat margarine and butter (and if you cannot find one with dairy) you can substitute it with some olive oil.

I am sure you will find the Tart delicious and very easy! Furthermore, you will be considered a perfect cooker after you offer this tart to your visits... (it happened to me, even though I am not such a cooker...
And they all asked the recipe...

Enjoy it. I am very happy to share it with you... I promise to do with another product (frozen fish) that I am used to cooked (also a quick and easy way, because I am used to cook when it is not complicated)... I will learn more...
Love,
Tessa.

Sorry, there is a misprint on my previous post.

When saying:
If someone has intolerance to dairy and cannot cannot eat margarine and butter (and if you cannot find one with dairy) you can substitute it with some olive oil.

Of course, I meant... (and if you cannot find one without dairy)

Hi Tessa,

Of course you meant without dairy!!

It is great to hear from you - you seem to be very happy and optimistic about your new diet; I am so glad for you that you have this wonderful attitude - it's half the battle won already.

I haven't checked the recipes but they sound delicious; somehow, Tessa, I have quit eating desserts/cakes. I am such a health nut you wont believe it - very boring in the culinary department I have to admit; you mentioned that you like to do something that is easy in the kitchen - well, you have competition from me!! I like it very easy too. In fact I would be very happy if the food made itself

Are you feeling better after having started the gf/cf (casein free) diet? Has it been a month yet? We are proud of you, Tessa!!

Love,
Karen

P.S. The problem with many margerines or butter substitutes is that they often contain soy or something else that some of us MIers are intolerant of. If you don't have a problem with soy or anything else in the margerine then you should be fine using it. How do you feel after eating it? Any gas, bloating, diarrhea?
Olive oil is safe for all of us to use and tastes great. Again, thank you for sharing your recipes with us!!
