I have been sick since Wednesday

Post by Umber »

Not sure what the problem is.....I have been having stomach problems for a few weeks. It has sent me home from work a few times. Doc gave me previcid (sp?) would help for a few mins then not work at all. I go back to my PC doc on Monday. I think he will probably want me to get a Endoscopy.

I thought it might have been the flu this time since I was exhausted, achy,
feverish but the stomach pain was the same. Not sure what is going on. If its not one thing its another.....GEEZ!

I am on the mend. I have a tolerable stomach ache today and a little more energy. I stayed home from work....I think I am out of sick time now. I remember when I would never use my sick time. If I was out sick it would never exceed 3 days for the whole year. It effects my raise, bonus etc. What can you do??

Hugs.

Lori

Oh, urg, Lori. You must be really feeling lousy if you are home from work. After all the conversation on here about Prevacid lately, I an not sure that your doc gave you exactly the right thing. Are you having D along with the pain?

I am very sorry. I still think we should be exempt from all other illnesses, but MC. Isn't that enough??

I hope you feel better soon.

Love,

Sally

Lori,

I, too, remember when I could say I never NEVER used my sick time. You know what - that's what its there for - when we really need it. I wouldn't sweat having to use it. I actually work with some people that when they think their going to lose their allotment they just take days off...and they aren't sick!

I'm glad to hear you're on the mend. It's the weekend - do something nice for you...even if it's just r&r'ing.

Hope you are doing better soon too Lori. I know what you are talking about sick days too. It was the same with me when I was working, you had so many sick days per month, but when you used the sick days that came into account at the end of the year and bonus time. I would take holiday time when I was sick instead, since I had about 5 weeks and so forth. When I think about it now, I really wonder if I did myself any good. Maybe if I did stay home when I got sick, I wouldn't have got so bad in the end. Its funny how you think isn't it, mustn't take time off for being sick if you can still stand.

I remember when I started to get sick, I had the big D and I felt like I was going to :vomit: , and that was my motto, and only reason for going home. Ear infections, cough, sore throat, pulled back, shoulders and so forth, I would go to work. But I drew the line at losing my lunch in front of my clients and or pooping my pants. I went into my boss holding my stomach and told her that I was not doing well and needed to go home. I remember her looking up from what she was doing and saying in a disgusted voice, "CAN'T YOU WAIT UNTIL THE PARTIMERS COME IN!!!" Which would mean me waiting almost another 2 hours!!! I said no, and went home. But I never forgot that. When I was bringing in the money and blah blah blah, I was employee of the month, but get sick??? They did not even give me a present or card when I could not come back. So now, you must take care of yourself, and do what is good for you. Bosses, well they want you there so that you can do things that make them look even better, maybe not all. But they do take up the majority, especially because of those bonuses that get bigger when the underlings do even more.

Bottom line, take care of yourself.

Lori,

I'm glad you are feeling better. Try not to worry about the time off work because it is more important that you get well. Hope you're good to go on Monday!
