According to this article in a 1998 issue of "Gut Online" magazine, 80% of the patients in this group were in remission, (without treatment), within a period of 40 months, and showed normal biopsies, at that point:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
It probably takes a lot of GI's that long to finalize a diagnosis. LOL.
You know, that's another project/issue that I've never seen any followup information on. I can't help but wonder if the reported results were really valid, or if they were somehow based on skewed data. It does give an indication, however, of how little empathy some doctors have for their patients.

I'm sorry but this study on 27 patients doesn't quite do it for me Just knowing the variances between everyone I have had the pleasure to know on Sally's and this site makes me shake my head that a study can be conducted with such a small group, and that group having different forms of colitis at that.
There, I feel better having got that off my chest.

I agree with you--I don't put much credence in the article either. I'm just amazed that no one has presented addtional supportive evidence, or attempted to refute it, after all these years. It makes you wonder if anyone is even interested.
