Hiya All====my issues

Post by barbaranoela »

I have been busy getting things put away for the big project of a modified bathroom installed----rather I should say a built in shower--and what a mess---this will be for Louie--
Two of our friends are going to install everything while Lou and I are away--

And now the packing--ugh-- --Us women understand--we wanna take everything---all shoes--actually the entire clothes closet--ya get the message~~~~

So I was very good in packing---took minimal stuff--which put a strange look on Lou's face--no words spoken-just a weird look which I know means *is something wrong with Barbara??

Kait is having some added issues--but to her its like *so why not*---
Lou is kept very busy with the newest folks that moved in a few years back---its good to see him running around with 2 crazy guys that totally crack me up----(yup these 2 guys redid their entire houses-mine being next-THEY THINK--I am allowing the shower stall--and thats due to Scotty always saying *oooh BABSEY it will be safer* funny I dont slip outter the bathtub as they claim is a very popular way people get hurt--   P.S. he thinks calling me Babsey is melting me --- NO WAY!!!!
-So we got Lou--Frank and Scotty T-shirts --Larry--Mo--and Curly--too funny--
The neighborhood has become alive again--
Take care all---been trying to catch up with all post--

Happy Turkey Day=and as much sadness that many of us have been thru we have to be thankful for all that are still with us--

So good to see a post from you, Barbara. I was just wondering yesterday how you are doing.
Sounds like you are pretty busy which is probably good. Really glad you posted, and I hope you really like the "remodeling job" when it's done.

So missed you Barbara and glad to see a post.

Remembered that a revived loo was on the horizon for you by your wonderful neighbors and figured you were getting ready to make the trek out West. In many ways would love to be there to join you but will have to wait a few more years to be retired with Frank.

Take less it will be fine. Buy what you don't have.

Barbara, I have missed you!! Your posts are so uplifting and refreshing. Just going through the remodeling of the master bathroom myself and what I thought it would cost has doubled  ! Yep, we went to a walk in shower as well. Took out the jacuzzi and now have a huge shower! Love it; thought I would miss the tub.....not for a moment.

Enjoy your trip; this is such a beautiful time of year. Ginny

 You always have been able to look right into someone's heart, to see what they are really saying.

I hope you don't miss all the extra clothes and things. I always tend to overdo it, too, and I never use half the stuff I take along, so I suspect that you are on the right track.

I'll bet you'll like that shower, once you try it. I would hate to have to go back to a tub.

I'm sorry to hear that Kait is having more problems. :sigh:

Will you be in AZ by Turkey Day?

Hi Senior,

Looks as though we both have been a bit remiss. This year has been a horror one for my family. My eldest sisters husband died with cancer, a long slow painful process, my younger sister who has breast cancer had to have double bypass surgery & is still getting over it. I had another bowel surgery in July & am havining ongoing problems with recurring bladder infections which have become resistant to most antibiotics that I am not alergic to. The antibiotics themselves have caused me grief & I have terrible pain in my legs. I am to have a knee replacement shortly, as soon as the physician passes me as fit enough but I am hoping that I am infection free at the time as they won't do it if there is any sign of infection in any part of me.

Well that is enough of my whinging & whining.

Our daughter & family who were living in New Zealand are now living in Melbourne. We are able to see more of them now. They will be up for a few days in January. Our little ice skating grand daughter Anisha is doing very well with a new coach & is progressing in leaps & bounds.

The trophy is nearly as big as her. She will be 12 in January & she is determined to be going to the next winter Olympics.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas & a safe, happy & healthy new year in 2011.

Love
Liz

Liz,

Oh dear, it sounds like you and your family have had a series of ups and downs this year. I hope that you'll be well enough to have the knee surgery and that next year will be better for you.

Thanks Gloria. Things have to be getting better soon. I was hoping to get the knee done this year but it looks as though it will be early next year now. I hope :xfingers:

Cheers

Hi Liz,

I'm sorry to hear about the sad things that have happened, but it's really nice to see an update from you. And Anisha is obviously turning into quite a talented performer. She will soon need a much bigger room, just to have a place to store all the trophies.

I don't know if you believe in "natural" treatments, but quite a few people are having very good results using D-mannose to treat and prevent bladder infections. It's not an antibiotic - it works by preventing the bacteria from being able to attach to the bladder wall, and so they are flushed harmlessly away. It's sort of like concentrated cranberry juice. IOW, it's a concentrated form of the ingredient in cranberries that helps with UTIs. More than one of our members has found it helpful in treating MC, also. If you have a doctor familiar with, (and open to using), natural treatments, you might see what she or he thinks about using it in your case.

I hope you can get those infections under control, so that you can have the knee surgery scheduled, and it will go smoothly.

Thanks for the update, it's always a pleasure to see an update from you, and I certainly hope that you and Robert, and all the rest of your family will have a wonderful Christmas, and a better-than-ever new year.

Love,
Wayne

Hello Wayne,

Thanks for the advice. I actually have been taking cranberry tablets for years to help prevent infection & dropped them some time ago for a reason that I can't remember (senior moment) I am back on them again now. I also dropped using the catheters for the past fortnight which my GP was not too happy about, but I was getting desperate. He said that not using them could also lead to infection. I was not a very happy camper without them anyway, very uncomfortable.

Well I have just finished cleaning & disinfecting my bathroom from top to bottom & am about to start with them again. I don't think that any self respecting microbe could live in there now. Problem is they live on your skin so I have to take extra precautions now.

My cats know that area is out of bounds & they try to get in any chance that they get.

I dropped the Noroxin a week ago too, so it will be back to them as well & also Hiprex.

I will be seeing the Physician next Friday for him to check me out as to my fitness for the operation on my knee. Aparently it is a big strain on your heart & lungs so he has to give the go ahead. I believe that he is very thorough & he may be able to suggest something for me.

Merry Christmas to you too Wayne. Did to get my ecard?

Cheers

I'm sure that surgery is pretty tough on the vital parts, and one needs to have some reserve energy, too, in case something goes wrong. If this is a "new" doctor then it's certainly possible that he might have a good suggestion or two. That would be a nice bonus.

Yes, I received the Aussie Jingle Bells. Thanks. That's pretty neat. I would have a tough time gettin' accustomed to Christmas in the middle of summer, but I suppose if I had grown up that way, it would seem perfectly normal.

After all that work cleaning and disinfecting your bathroom, I hope those germs have the courtesy to stay out of it for a while, but I'll bet they're a lot like your cats - they'll sneak back in, any chance they get.

Love,
Wayne
