Tessa,

I'm sorry to learn that you've been so sick, but I'm glad to see that you're doing better now. I've been wondering why you were absent, but I was hoping that you were just busy.

Please don't be discouraged. It takes time to recover from all the damage that gluten does to the digestive system. The longer that we are sick, before we begin treatment, the more damage we have. Until you fully recover, it is easy to get sick. You will get better and better, as time goes on. Take care of yourself.

Love,
Wayne

Thank you for your support, Wayne... We were wondering what the reason was for being ill and couldn´t find it, as I am on a GF diet since mid July... But you are right. It takes time until the body recovers from all the gluten taken during all my life...

Thank you for caring...

Love,
Tessa.

Oh Tessa,

I am sorry you've been ill - it's no fun
Is the illness MC related? Diarrhea and the whole nine yards?!

I have been thinking of you - you've been GF for a month now. In the beginning the hopes are tremendously high that the GF diet will quickly make one return to normal - at least, that's how I remember feeling. I was so disappointed when it didn't happen, I could hardly stand it. Later it turned out that I had other intolerances as well and that was why GF and dairy free alone wasn't enough. You may or may not have any other intolerances - it is too early to know for sure right now. You still need to become an expert GFer; detecting gluten in hidden ingredients that you thought were safe or that you didn't pay much attention to for example. Your immune system detects any and all amounts of your triggers - you need to become as much of an expert as the immune system is; so listen carefully to your body. The symptoms are there as a feedback to you.

If you wish to get help with your diet or if you have questions relating to the diet you are always more than welcome to ask away - sometimes it helps to put many brains to work at a problem. Who knows? Could help you too.....

Hope you feel better already.

Love,
Karen

 Oooh, Thank you for your warm welcome. It helps feeling better after a few days of sufferings...

Wayne, JJ, Karen, Barbara & Shirley: what would I do without your sweat support? :pulsinghearts: Your experience is true, Karen. One thinks that once you start a GF diet, everything will be fine (by magic), but it takes time until we recover from all the years we have been in direct contact with our intolerances. I was feeling so exhausted, with nauseas, headaches, etc. First we looked for a reason, a food, drink... Finally, we thought about the words of the forum saying that it takes time until one recovers: and admitted it would take more time than expected.

I am feeling better now.
Thank you for caring.
