See Peg, thats why we learn what a 10 is and a 20...starts young...kindergarten or before    Canadian cash is very colorful...Our new ones are closer to that

As for the :boobs4: I'm sure everything will be fine. I will just say, if you do indeed have fibrocystic breasts, be extra vigilant about your own self exams, including looking in the mirror for any changes in shape such as slight indentation. My Mom had breast cancer 9 years ago and hers was not detectable on the mammo even after the doc had done the surgery. The cysts make for very dense tissue, which is hard to read on a mammo. I suspect if you are likely to have cystic tissue, that this is why they want to see you again...probably just to get a better sense of what you baseline will look like. Her doc was astute and noticed the indentation which is indicative of a type of cancer that does not form the lump we all hear so much about. It was caught very early and she had surgery, and never did radiation or chemo or anything and has been fine for 9 years...still has to have yearly checks and blood tests to check for liver and other functions. Anyway, what my ramble says is self exam is VERY important. And good for your peace of mind too. As we like to say here about our guts, we know our bodies best.

Morning Peg,

Please do not worry - it will just cause a flare-up. I have been recalled a couple of times and an ultra sound proved that everything was fine.

Good luck and see you the end of August.

Hiya Peg!

I agree that it is quite common to be recalled, especially with the first mammo where they are establishing a baseline. I have been lucky and have never been recalled except for the last one several months ago. Of course I worried, but all was fine. Usually they have you come back to repeat the routine xrays (often because of poor quality films). Then, if needed, you have more sophisticated tests like ultrasound. I have a girlfriend who is recalled every year for repeat xrays and ultrasound, and everything has always been fine!

Good luck, dear! :xfingers:

Love,

Polly

Pegster-

I'm sure all is fine!! I've heard part of the reason 40 is the age they start :boobs: - squishing is that younger women have denser, harder to read tissue. I've also heard younger women get recalled more often - and the % is very high (90+) of this being nothing

So take your perky :boobs: and have a fun weekend :drinking2:  :toast: :band:

Love,
Mary

Thanks again all. You know you guyses are really incredible! :grouphug:

I am looking forward to a nice road trip :driving: and seeing my good pal Jill. We'll kick it up a little Friday night :band: then off to see Mt. Rainier Saturday. I'm getting really excited!!!

I'm trying not to think about the stoopid :boobs4: and am, in fact, playing hooky today and just enjoying some quiet time. I slept in, I'm enjoying a cuppa, and I'm not going to do a darned thing today except relax.

Love n hugz,
