I wonder about this:
Say there's a disaster and the only food available to you contains your intolerances. Would you eat it, knowing you will be sick and get D?
I don't know what I would do. Maybe I would get enough nutrients from the food before it exploded out the other end to make it worth while. But then I would be little good to anyone...
??? Jean
Hypothetically, for the food intolerants...

A very interesting question, Jean. I guess we'd have no choice other than to starve to death more quickly if we didn't eat the offending food. I often worry about the future - like if/when I am in a nursing home. Would they be able to tailor a diet to my needs? And would I be lucid enough to explain it all to them? So many worries that the "normal" folks don't have to think about!

Hmmmmmmm. That's a depressing question. Lets hope that Dr. Fasano gets those pills perfected first, and we all have a bunch of them stashed away for future use, before anything like that happens

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Wayne,
Thanks for bringing up Dr. Fasano. I think Luce mentioned him recently too. I will try to call him this week to set up an appt. (I have been so busy this summer that I haven't had the time so far).
Once I get a date set for a meeting, I'll start a new post for everyone to pose questions that they would like me to ask him. It will be an opportunity to get answers from the the horse's mouth!
