Hi everyone and Happy New Year!
It's been awhile since I've posted and thought I would catch everyone up on what's been going on in our life.......
Larry had a partial knee replacement done on November 30th after having meniscus repair done in July. The knee started giving him serious problems and they found it had degenerated very fast from the arthritis so the replacement was necessary. He's been on short term disability twice in 2010 and probably won't be released to go back to work until the first of February.
I'm still unemployed; the economy sure isn't on the up-swing fast enough in our area. Jobs are nill and applications for one position range in the hundreds! Ugggg I think it's going to be awhile before jobs are available here in central Ohio.
We are getting ready to make some changes in our life: We are moving again. We had the opportunity to purchase the home Larry's grandparents owned when he was growing up. The home has been in the family since (owned by his uncle) and a rental. The uncle lives in Alaska and has not been able to keep up with it. Unfortunately, the house has been destroyed by the renter and will require a lot of work.
We will be moving in with family for 3-4 months while we get it fit to live in and then renovate one room at a time while living there. We are excited but stressed and my body is telling me so :( Financially, it is the only way we can accomplish this in the timeframe we have set.
The deal is too good to pass up and enables us to renovate for 3 years and save for a 1-time balloon payment the end of 2015! At this rate, we will own our home in 5 years! YIPPEE!!
MC-wise, I am doing pretty good. Stress plays a big factor in my bathroom trips but other than that I am doing pretty good.
We are going to be grandparents again! Jordan will soon have a little brother to motherhen! Nichole is due the end of May 2011.
Trisha and her family will soon be moving back "home". My son-in-law is receiving a medical discharge from the Army (they are in Kansas) and will be discharged within 6 months. Eddie has lung damage due to the burn pits in Afghanistan during deployment. He is on medication but the damage is done. They will be living in West Virginia where his family is from but that is only 3 hours from us! I am so excited - we haven't seen our youngest grandson and he turned 1 on New Year's eve. I am so excited about seeing them and spending some good family time with them.
I've not been posting much with so much going on in our life lately. I've been reading and trying to keep up with everyone. I figure we will turn off the internet in a few weeks to save money and won't have it on again until we get into our new home. I can still check up on everyone but will probably not have time to post.
to all our new members and to all I haven't personally posted to.
I hope that 2011 will bring health, wealth, love and happiness to all of us!
Love and many hugs,
Mars

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
Hey, Mars Bar!
Good to hear an update. Great news about the house! You are always so upbeat, making lemonade when life throws you lemons. Your family is growing and settling nearby......I know that makes you happy.
Love,

Blessed are they who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused.
Hi Mars,
Larry's had a tough time with that knee. I sure hope that when it finishes healing, it will work as good as new. I hope the house restoration goes well, too. As you say, that will take a lot of work, but it should be a good deal.
Sorry to hear about Eddie's lung damage, that's a real bummer, but congratulations on the new addition to the family.
Thanks for the update. Please take care of yourself, and I hope that you can keep the stress level from getting too high. We'll be looking forward to when you'll be able to post again.
May the new year bring everything that you are hoping for, and then some - all of it good.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Morning Mars,
Polly said it well - get lemons and make lemonade. At the rate the lemons are hitting you, you could make a million $$ selling the lemonade.
Best to you and Larry and congrats on the growing family.
Love, Maggie
