Communion Bread or Cracker Recipe (GF, DF, SF)

Post by MBombardier »

A friend made this for communion bread, and it was really good! I ate some more as crackers with my soup.

1 cup rice flour
1/2 cup sorghum flour
1/4 cup arrowroot starch
1/8 cup flax meal
1/4 cup oil (olive, grapeseed, etc.)
1 tsp. guar gum
1 tsp. xanthan gum
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. agave nectar

Mix dry ingredients together. Add wet ingredients, plus enough hot water to make dough (wet playdoh consistency). Divide dough into three balls.

Lightly grease and flour pan. Use wet fingers to spread and smooth one ball into a flat, round shape about 6-7 inches in diameter. Prick with a fork in a cross shape to help with breaking.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then flip and bake for another 10 minutes. To keep soft, wrap in foil while still slightly warm. Repeat process for each ball.

Yields three smaller-sized communion "rounds."
