Frito-Lay Announces Plan To Use All Natural Ingredients

Post by tex »

Hi All,

This doesn't apply to all of their products, but the plan will apply to approximately half of their product line.
More than six dozen varieties of Frito-Lay products will be made with all natural ingredients including all the flavors of Lay's® potato chips, Tostitos® tortilla chips, SunChips® multigrain snacks, Baked! snacks, and Rold Gold® pretzels by the end of 2011.

Interesting... we buy Corn Dippers from Trader Joe's which are organic Fritos. They are cheaper than Fritos, even, so they're an all-around winner at our house.

I am sure they will proudly put "Made from All Natural Ingredients" all over the label. Do you suppose they will have the courage to write "Made from Unnatural Ingredients" on the remaining 50% of their product line????

Isn't soy a natural ingredient? I hope this doesn't mean they'll be adding that to their line.

As I learned from my recent experience, most "natural flavors" used in teas are made from soy.

Marliss, I sure wish we had a Trader Joe's here in NW Arkansas. Maybe they don't come here, with Wal Mart HQ being here, but noticed they aren't lots of places. I've visited their store & loved it. We don't have a Costco either, just Sam's Club. You can't order from them either, which surprised me.
