Hi Polly,

This is a great thread on eating paleo with good insights to keep in mind while your trying this diet. I did not know you were 'almost' a vegetarian before your MC DX. If I recall right, I think Karen was also at that place when she was DX and she jumped right into this diet so she will be able to give you lot's of support in adjusting to eating meat.

I can't add much to what's been said, but I'm eating close to Paleo-lite(like Matthew mentioned) and do not eat as often as is suggested in the book. I don't need to anymore.

You mentioned weightloss- it's a given on this diet. I've seen your pictures and you don't look like you have to much to lose so I hope you will soon and stable out . The book is great, but seems to be geared to a weight loss program. I was heavy and have lost now over 50 pounds. The good thing is, I feel very good on this diet. I'm trying to find what works for me and I have no doubt, you will be able to do that too. It's going to be a differant balance for each of us that try this diet.
Love,
Joanna

Hi Joanna -

Your weightloss is very impressive - over how long a period of time have you lost 50 lbs? Did the weightloss start prior to doing the paleo/low carb diet? I am just curious about this - how did you do it and was it deliberate? I think Jean has mentioned a significant weightloss after starting the gf/MI diet. I find it very interesting that the diet has this effect.

It's good to hear from you.

Love,
Karen

Karen,

I weighed myself in ER cause I was bored. I've lost 40lbs. since I was diagnosied with MC. The same 40 lbs that I gained the year before, for no apparent reason. I still believe that it was part of my MC. Why would I gain that much weight without changing my eating or activity patterns!?! Especially because I never varied more than 10lbs. in my life, excluding pregnancy.

The gluten free and then MI diet helped me lose the weight. Thank goodness.

Hi, Polly
You are always so strong

I feel already overwhelmed with the GF diet :duh: and therefore: congratulations! for starting such a difficult diet. I hope you can cope with it. You really deserve it.

Please, keep us informed on how you are going on. I am looking forward to it.

Love,
Tessa
