this site is saving me right now, thank you all!!! i was in remission and its back, breaking my heart, i was eating anything but i am going to attempt diet changes again too get my life back, you are all inspiring. i refuse to go back to the drugs but would like to be under a dr.s care again, i agree most don't get it but there must be some good ones!! I just moved near Columbia-New York Presbyterian Hospital in NYC, it is a great hospital, can any one recommend a good Dr associated with that hospital?
Hi,
I'm afraid I can't recommend a good doctor in that part of the country, but welcome aboard.
Good luck with your search for a doctor, good luck with the diet, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Welcome, Court! I'm clear on the other side of the country, so I can't help you, but I'll bet someone can. Lots of wisdom and knowledge on this site!!

Hi Court and from sunny Colorado. So sorry to hear your symptoms are back and totally relate to the "heart break". On the bright side you have found the best place for support and help to get you through it. I lived in NYC for 35 years, but not near Columbia Presbyterian, so I did not use it. It certainly is an excellent medical facility, so you should be able to find a good GI there. I have a friend who used to work there, but she left NYC over 10 years ago to move to Texas, so I'm not sure if she has any contacts there now. I will ask her and let you know if she can provide a recommendation. Best of luck to you, and again welcome to this forum - it has been a "sanity savor" for me since I found it over 4 months ago.
Love,
Kari

Court, also from the Netherlands. Of course so far away from the US, I can't recommend a DR in NY to you. But I am sure you will find one. Sorry to hear you're having a flare up at the moment, I hope things well get well soon.
Good idea you are going to give the diet a try. But please don't be to afraid of medication. We are all not cheering to take it, but sometimes it can give you your life while it takes a while to see results of the diet.
