Hi Karen, welcome to our family. You'll find so much help here to help you figure things out. What meds are you on? If you've been reading here, you'll know that adopting a gluten free diet (and probably dairy free) will be critical in getting well. You will probably have other food sensitivities that you'll figure out over time. If you want to figure things out faster, you can get tested through Enterolab for the main intolerances you have. Read all you can here-it is a learning curve and can be overwhelming at first, but eventually you'll become familiar with things and it will become a part of your life that will help you live a healthy life.

Hi Karen,

Welcome to the group. As you can see, we learn by sharing information about what works for us and what doesn't. We try to fill in the gaps here, to cover the things that our GI doctors forget to tell us - tips that can help to make our daily life easier, and hopefully, allow us to get away from the bathroom, without having to worry about an "accident".

Again, welcome aboard, and please feel free to ask anything.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

 Welcome to the family, Karen! It feels like drinking from a fire hose when you first start reading posts, but it will become familiar. In the few months I've been here, I have learned so much!! Ask away--there is a lot of knowledge here.

Hi Karen,

so sorry you have been diagnosed with this terrible disease. Best thing to do right away is to start a food diary and see which foods are making you sick. If you can eliminate them, you will feel a whole lot better.

Glad you are out the B-room. I know it is a cold, lonely existence.

:ciao: Karen!

I saw your post last night but was just to tired to write a welcome email. I hope you find help on here to get you well and back to a normal life. You said your Doctor has given you some pills that are making you feel better. We are always interested in treatments that work.. would you be able to share what those pills are?

Regards, Linda
