Hi Pat,

Your results are very interesting. Were you surprised at any of them?

I believe you are the first one to not test reactive to any meat or fish.

I notice that you tested reactive to eggs. Your Enterolab test results showed that your IgA result for eggs was normal, so you rightly assumed eggs were OK, according to those test results. Your MRT results contradict the Enterolab results - very interesting. I have found the highly reactive MRT results to be very reliable. It may be that eggs have been a major problem all along.

Like my results, yours probably show that you are not reactive to several fruits. I haven't found that to be true - yet. We both hope that in time we can eat some again. BTW, banana was on my list of non-reactive fruits, which is why I tested it first.

You've tested highly reactive to corn, rice and barley. You already knew about corn and rice, and probably hadn't been eating barley. The only grain I tested reactive to (moderate) was oats, but my personal testing shows that I'm only able to eat corn, quinoa and rice.

I would be careful about assuming a non-reactive score means that the food is safe for you. Use your past experience to guide you, along with Mary Beth's advice, of course. I'm :xfingers: that this will finally be the key to your remission.

Gloria and Pat,

Since Enterolab and MRT aren't measuring the same thing, the results don't match, but rather complement each other, so both reactives on MRT and Enterolab should be avoided. Likewise, this is not a test for fructose malabsorption, so if fructose malababsoption has been diagnosed, those diet guidelines need to be followed. Green foods need to be tested, but most find that the vast majority are safe to eat.

Hi Pat!

Thanks for posting your results. Very interesting! I am now in phase III (3rd week) of following the least reactive foods diet and adding one new food each day. I would agree with Gloria and Mary Beth - try to test each green food separately if you can. My MRT showed little reactivity to maple sugar, avocado, spinach and garlic and yet I have reacted to them. As Mary Beth says, the tests do not pick up on everything. For example, one might have problems with foods high in oxalates, or nitrates, for example.

You had a lot more red (most reactive) foods than the rest of us, I noticed.

Good luck with the diet!

Hugs,

Polly

Thanks all. I am just waiting for my phone meeting with Mary Beth. She is developing a diet for me to follow and I have been cautiously eating only the green foods but not the dairy, wheat, soy, or fructose. Doesn't leave much. Even though it's only been a couple of days I have noticed a decrease in the volume of my BM's. So I would say I have noticed improvement. I'll take that! Hopefully with Mary Beth's help I will keep getting better and better! I sure do hope fruit is included in there somewhere.
