Hmmmmmmm. For approximately one dollar per celiac, they can buy worldwide exclusive rights to the product - pretty good odds for windfall profits.

Thanks for posting the link.

Hmmmm..... Need to find out more about that company. May be a good investment.

I can't help but wonder what kind of side effects the pill will have.

Investing isn't a bad idea but with big pHarma it's always a crap shoot. I also read this yesterday regarding Cephalon.

I was thinking the same thing Shirley...what are the side effects? They have tested it on 450 celiac patients so far. Do the patients continue eating a gluten free diet? Is this drug targeted only for celiacs who are gluten free but still have symptoms?

I wonder what will happen to the price of Entocort once this pill is approved? I bet the price drops dramatically.

Gayle,

The article you linked to appears to be identical to the article that Kelly linked to in the lead post in this thread. That was the reason for her starting this topic in the first place. Apparently you didn't read it.

Gloria,

Entocort is in trouble sooner than that - it's primary patent expires on May 15th, if I recall correctly.
That upcoming expiration date is probably one of the reasons why they have been doing so much price-gouging during the past year or two.
