Amazing GF chocolate fix

Post by Kimberly M »

Hi Friends!

Thought I'd share an amazing GF dessert I had the other night. Outback Steakhouse has made a GF version of their signature dessert "Chocolate Thunder From Downunder" It's a warm chocolate brownie topped with ice cream and hot fudge.......AMAZING!! You can get it without the ice cream if your sensitive to dairy. I sure miss some of my favorite foods some days and this was quite a treat!

Kim I have had that as well, but be careful there is soy in it. It tastes great but did cause me some issues with the soy.

I agree Joe. However, I have been working a bit of soy into my diet but no more than once every 2 weeks and so far so good. For something that good, I will wait the 2 weeks.

Love, Maggie

Maggie your right for that I would wait the 2 weeks, it is incredible. At least for now my system reacts strongly to the soy in just 1 or 2 of those GF Tim Tams cookies. It funny I would say the I react stronger to soy than gluten, but the reaction last longer with gluten.

Overall this has been a tough week for me and 'safe foods'

When my Dh and I were down in Spokane two weekends ago, we shared one of those brwonie desserts at Outback. He ate the icecream/whipping cream, and I had the brownie.. and we were both extremely happy and full :-) and we only had the sampler one too!!!

Yes, Gabes, being able to eat some chocolate does make life bearable ! :-)

Dear Gabes
Rice Milk Chocolate and GF/SF/DF lollies
Ok, where can I get them?

Lets corner the market and put all the profit to real research into "gluten (and other foods) intolerances"

The chocolate is

Bonvita Rice White Milk Chcolate
Bonvita also have dark variants with cranberry etc

http://www.bonvita.com/webwinkel_en.html
I believe they are based in Europe and web sales are confined to europe delivery

If you have any online retailers of vegan products or gluten free products they may stock it.

The lollies are brand 'Irresistable strawberries and cream'

Sue Shepherds Irresistible Gluten Free Strawberries and Cream Lollies 170g

Delicious soft gluten free confectionery! Suitable for people with fructose malabsorption!

And, they are also lactose free, dairy free, egg free and soy free, so people with food intolerances can enjoy with pleasure!

Ingredients
Glucose Syrup, Sugar, Water, Thickener (1401 from corn), Gelatine, Food Acids (270,330), Glazing Agent (Coconut Oil, Palm Kernel Oil,903,307), Flavours, Colour (122

i purchase both via a Gluten Free products website
http://www.absolutelyglutenfree.com.au/cgi-bin/agfshop

when i was in France last June, i was able to purchase products that were australian made online from a french based Gluten Free web based shop.

I have used the Strawberry and Cream lollies to decorate my GF/YF/DF/SF chocolate cakes
