I don't believe that everyone does, but most of us do. I often felt as though I had a severe case of the flu. Sometimes, when my neck was so stiff and sore that I couldn't sleep, or when I felt a migraine coming on, I would take two maximum strength Tylenol capsules about every 4 to 6 hours, (or whatever the label allows). I always got plenty of exercise from my work, and it seemed to help, but of course, the disease will cut down our endurance, so we usually can't do as much work, (or exercise), as we could, normally.

Yes, and my husband thought I had sleeping sickness because I slept a LOT during the day and then at night also, when I wasn't pooping & vomiting. I was lucky. I got a diagnosis pretty quickly. I can't imagine that going on for years without knowing why.

I ached all over until I got rid of the fructose and fructans. Wheat is a fructan.

Lisa

pre MC diagnosis muscle aches namely knees and ankles was very frequent and generally appear along with the heavy fatigued feeling. when diagnosed and finding this site it was a relief to find out that the aches was a common symptom.

at my previous work place this was very noticeable as i would have to walk up 3 stories of stairs for some of the meeting rooms.

these days being GF/DF/SF/YF these symptoms hardly occur, they only appear if i have been glutened or soyed or if I am fatigued from either mental or physical stress (or sometimes both mental/physical ie recently when i moved house )

Definitely aches and pains were with me through a long time with this disease. I did find, however, that elimnating the gluten and intolerances I have resulted in most of the pain leaving.

Lisa for me those aches and pains are a sign that I have eaten something that I react to, which is usually gluten, soy or dairy.

Once I had eliminated the offending foods the aches faded.

Same here, Lisa. Actually, dairy caused me far greater aches and pains than gluten did. And soy was almost as bad as dairy. Once you eliminate offending foods, you should feel much better.

Hugs,

Knowing that the aches and pains are a part of the entire MC/food sensitivity problem has helped me. At least it makes me feel not alone. And, while the above is excellent advice, be sure to move. If you give in to the aches and pains, being still will make it worse. Be sure to try to do some gentle stretching and exercise. Take a walk, or go for a swim. The warm pool always makes me feel better when the muscle pain is bad. (And it is much better since I have changed my diet.) But, I can still feel better when I get regular exercise.

I hope you feel better soon!

I had very bad neck, back, knee and every other joint pain. I ached and had zero energy as if i had the flu.. It is enough to drive you crazy I started to wonder if it was all in my head. I thought maybe it is stress or depression. I would take the D any day over the pain. I am so thankful that since I have started the entocort and quit eating gluten I have been feeling great. I just pray I keep feeling good and that all of you do as well. I
