Back again - finally seeing some improvement!

Post by tcorbett »

Hello All,

i just finished my xifaxan and cipro (for another bladder infection). I did not see much improvement until I made some drastic dietary changes this week. We lovingly call this the Dirt and Rocks Diet! lol

I started with taking out dairy - cheese is my best friend. Then I went thru my list of food intolerances - from my tests 2 years ago. I took out grains. And I also was reading my book IBS Free at last - about FODMAPS. I am still on my Jus, I am pounding down my Perma-Clear - super awesome probiotic! So, I just did it all - rather piece by piece over a few days. It didn't stop my D, but I can no longer see what I ate that day when I peek in the potty! That is a huge step for me!!! Yesterday I only had to go once - wow! Today, not as great, I got slapped with a nice headcold - I kept hoping the symptoms were just a detox reaction, but I don't think so. Either way, I see improvement and that is great! It's definately not a stressfree time - we may have to be out of our house in the next 4-6 weeks, not knowing where to go! It's okay, we can do it. It's the packing and dejunking that get me down. Once I'm on the mend from this cold, it's time to tackle the house.

I have also been exercising a little each day, doing a stretching video also, alternating stretching with the flexibility and relaxation steps! Plugging along here - inch by inch.

Thanks for listening to me rattle on here.

Have a great weekend!

Theresa in chilly, snow filled Maine!

I'm glad that you're seeing some improvement, Theresa.

Packing and dejunking are definitely not fun. I hope you won't have to move.

Hang in there.

Hello Theresa my almost neighbor. I am glad you are seeing some improvements. MC can be a challenge at times.

It certainly has been a very cold and snowy winter in New England this year. I am looking forward to a warmer address before next winter. I will be moving to Australia during their winter, which is more like our early summer. No jackets required there

As far as the packing and de-junking I am in the de-junking phase right now. Its amazing how much 'stuff' you can accumulate when you are at the same address for 16 years! I am not looking forward to the packing and moving part.

Best wishes Theresa

Theresa,

What an encouraging report! It sounds like you've taken the "bull by the horns" and are tackling this beast! Good for you!

Hello Theresa, I am glad to hear things are going up for your MC. You are another example that diet changes are the most important part in managing this disease.

I wish you good luck with finding another place to stay. And here another one that knows what dejunking means, it keeps amazing me how much junk I gathered over the years.

Morning Theresa,

Encouraging news and sorry about the head cold. Getting packed and ready to move is hard enough but not being sure of your destination can be quite stressful. I wish you well and will keep you in my prayers.

Love, Maggie
