Wow thanks again for all the good thoughts. I am feeling better after some sleep and my plans are just to follow doctors orders and relax today.
Hmmm being brave?? I don't think so, lets just say it was a good thing I was sitting down when it came time for the shot
Gabes... using the force LOL I used something, not sure what to call it. You actually not far off with me using a lightsaber, I work with and design laser optics but they were not involved with this incident.
Gabes I am working on a real life "lightsaber" though. If I finish it in time I will bring it with me in April when I visit with you. Its the size of a regular small laser pointer and runs off of 2 AAA batteries, but I have gotten the power output up to the point that it will light matches pop balloons etc. Its a side project of mine at work.
Of course lets remember what mainstream medicine tells us... "MC has a benign course...."
Yeah right

Wow Joe! That is some eye tale. I never heard of anything like that. I have a bad eye that is caused by my MC. I have found that the worse my tummy, the worse my eye. They seem to go hand in hand so to speak. I have Iritis and use prednisone drops or Lotemax drops for inflammation daily.
I am curious to know-Did you tummy get worse before this happened?

Joe, I am very, very glad to hear that you're Ok. and thanks fo the heads up. Do get rested up and well soon.
I, too, am curious to know how an IBD can affect the eye1 Does anyone understand this mechanism and if so, could you explain it??

Linda,
It's apparently genetics-related, (HLA-B27). The article at the first link below gives a pretty good coverage of information about this topic, and how it relates to several autoimmune diseases.

Linda that was the reason they tested me for HLA-B27 in the first place. I do have a lot of pain in my lower central back and the saacroiliac joints do show some degradation. The doctor is watching for and concerned about Ankylosing Spondylitis. This was another factor in me choosing the Imuran as Imuran will address the AS as well.

Hmmmmmm. It may just be a coincidence, but quite a few people with MC seem to have lower back problems. I recall that when I was still reacting, it was a regular problem for me, for years. Now, it only seems to happen when I get careless and "abuse" my back, by not using good lifting techniques, or when I get sloppy with my posture.
Joe, while I was working this afternoon, I noticed that my eyes were photosensitive, they were watering, and sort of itchy, and they were really bothering me. Naturally, I started thinking "uveitis", and wondering how long I should wait before "doing something". Fortunately, though, after I got out of the sun, and a couple of hours went by, they were much better, so I suspect that it was just due to an overexposure to dust on Friday night, (while servicing equipment, with uncooperative wind). That probably irritated my eyes, and the bright sunlight today, (I didn't have any sun glasses handy), amplified the problem. I'll certainly "keep an eye" on them, though, just in case.
You know, it's kind of funny, in a cruel sort of way, but over the years, I've had a number of eye injuries, (usually involving things such as steel particles becoming embedded in my eye, due to freak accidents while grinding steel, or something similar that requires minor eye surgery), and virtually every time, it has happened during the time period between quittin' time on Friday afternoon, and Sunday night, when medical help, (especially ophthalmological help), is pretty much unavailable. I suppose that Murphy's Law has something to do with that.
Thanks for reminding us of the risk - I had forgotten about it, until you mentioned it.
