It seems odd to me that a couple of you say that your symptoms started with a "stressful life change". Mine started after my father was diagnosed with cancer and a few other "not so good" family issues surfaced. I was under an extreme amount of stress and thought that I just had a nervous stomach but the D hasn't stopped yet and that's been almost 4 years ago!!

Yup, coach Polly, for me it was a divorce and that was 13 years ago! Apparenty, if we have the genes ("non-celiac") for gluten sensitivity, any number of things from drugs to stress, can trigger them . Unfortunately once triggered there doesn't seem to be any way to turn them off.
