After four years of the drizzling s---s, if you know what I mean, I am finally in remission.... I have been on entocort for over a year 3 capsules daily, on predinsone 40 mg. lialdla 4 tablets daily. My GI sent me in for several tests to see if it was chrons or colitis, never was a definitive answer, the colonosopy showed colitis. Still not sure if I have colitis or chrons. Seven months ago he prescribed humira, 2 shots a month, and gradually tried weaning me off predinsone, nothing happened, just the same old stuff with the diahrea. Four months ago started taking VSL#3DS, and wow...... 2weeks on that and some positive results, 4 months later off predinsone, and hoping to be taken off entocort soon. Not sure what worked but am so glad to start getting my life back and blood pressure start coming back to a livable rate.
Welcome to the board. I firmly believe that VSL#3 is one of the best probiotics available.
Your experience is additional proof that we are all different, and what works for some of us, doesn't necessarily work for others. We each have to discover which treatments work best for us, individually. Thanks for the information.

It's good to hear you are finally seeing some improvement after years of suffering. It sounds like you have been through a lot. Did the colonoscopy show ulcerative colitis or microscopic colitis? Are you still taking Humira? It's good to see the probiotic is working and you are off prednisone.
I considered taking VSL #3 because it does seem to be highly rated but thought I remembered a statement on the box which said "this product contains traces of gluten, soy, lactose and skimmed dehydrated milk" which is why I avoided it due to obvious reasons personally.

Thank you for sharing what worked for you, and I'm glad to hear your suffering has stopped and you have gotten your life back. It sure feels good doesn't it.. like a bad dream ended!
Hoping you are continuing to progress and please keep us posted. By the way, is VSL#3 an over-the-counter product or prescription?
