Is this petty or what!

Post by Umber »

I am the petty one....... a few of my co-workers were moved and the gal who now sits behind me chews gum all day long. She makes a snapping noise with every other chew. This was the first day and I sure hope I can get used to it and eventually not even notice the smacking.

I would never say a word to her, she is the sweetest person but I was ready to scream!

Hugs,

Lori

I'm the same way. Being around someone who smacks gum constantly, drives me up the wall. It's amazing how comforting gum chewing seems to be to some people, (the chewers), yet so irritating to others, (the audio and visual victims).

Maybe you can fight fire with fire, and neutralize the effect, by chewing gum yourself.

Hugs,
Tex

Ooooh, gross.

Have you tried wearing headphones? Play music softly so you can still hear the phone ring on those rare, but extremely important occasions when I call? If your co-worker is allowed to chew gum at work you should be allowed to wear headphones.

Lots of love,

You could spread ear plugs all over your desk and drop a few around her desk...and when she asks about them...nicely tell her why they are there. Love Oma

You could try recording her and then playing it back for her...tell here "this" is what I hear all day!!!!!!

She might find it irritating also when she hears it!

I must confess, I used to be one of those gum-cracking people. It IS irritating and when doing it, you don't realize just how much it is annoying to others. It becomes a habit and you don't realize you are doing it.

Was I just redundant there? LOL Well - U get my point!
