Dole pineapple juice

Post by Pat »

The ascorbic acid in Dole pineapple juice is from corn. They don't put it in the canned pineapple but they do the juice and some other products.

OMG!!!!

I didn't know this.....that most ascorbic acid is made from corn. I knew it was the same as vitamin C but just assumed it came from citrus. Amazing what we learn here everyday. I am very corn sensitive and for 10 years have been thinking that ascorbic acid was safe (it is added to so many juices). Somehow I missed that. Pat, thank you so much for this info! Does this mean that most vitamin C preps contain corn?

Love,

Polly

I think so. We have to look for ascorbic acid from sago palm and pray we aren't intolerant of this.
