CYST removal today~~~
I have tried ---with wide open mouth(for me thats a given- ---TO LOCATE THE CYST and the throat sure is flubbery----
I did *ahhhh*---*ohhh*--but being i dont know what it looks like I shut my mouth cus there is lottsa stuff there---
This is the specialist that I went to for smell and taste--did a CAT(which I told him had them before) and I DONT have a tumor--but alas the good old dollar signs seem to ring the BELL~~~~
Maybe I can save the cyst and *jar* it as a memento ---
Catch up with U all later ---
Hope all your days are improving and that*wellness* road is close at hand~~~

Best of luck today, Barbara!
I love the way your mind works (I asked to see my lipoma when I had it removed - scared the heck out of the team, who are clearly not accustomed to dealing with a conscious/chatty patient!).
Now I wonder whether my mother was right about her own loss of taste/smell - she blamed it on her glaucoma drops...
Wishing you wellness today especially,
Sara

sara------wow---how long has your mom---been tasteless and no smell????? its been since 04 for me and NOBODY can help--
Appears that during surgery--then--the doc was using too big a tube to try going down my throat and stopped when the nurse said---SHE NEEDS A PEDIATRIC TUBE---but the damage was done--we think from that--
Of course--my desire would be to taste ICE CREAM and all the bad stuff that makes ya cholesterol high and mighty -----yet without tasting them --I go thru a container of ice cream saying to myself---PEANUTBUTTER--PEANUTBUTTER--
does ya mom get real angry at times??? I do--all the time--
take care-- Barbara

Barbara,
My mom's no longer with us - I am now unsure whether she had *no* taste/smell, or just drastically reduced? She had definite food preferences, most definitely including chocolate ;) But she did say that some of her preferences were about texture, and she loved madeleines partly because they're beautiful (and mentioned in literature).
My mother was spirited, but she mostly wasn't mad. She was, I think, much too good a patient. I will be a very different kind of little old lady when the time comes... much more spit and vinegar. Sometimes I remind myself to practice now, to keep my inner feistiness in shape.
I wonder why don't they use a 'pediatric' tube for everyone? I'm sure you're not the only one to have a bad experience. Just calling it pediatric instead of smaller prevents them from thinking to ask whether the tube and the patient are compatible ;)
I think I'd be craving garlic and salt, myself... but we never know, right?
Wishing the best for you today,
Sara

Mrs. Columbo,
I hope the procedure went smoothly, and everything is working perfectly, again.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
