Like Nancy I am off of all fruit but I think that I need to add them back in. What would be a good place to start? From these posts it looks like blue berries, apples, bananas. I think pears are a stone fruit and may have sorbitol. Ray

Ray, pears are a pome fruit... they do contain sorbitol. Cherries, apples, pears (and quite a few fruits) are all in the same family. I'm not sure how much that influences how we tolerate them. I eat a lot of almonds, which are in the same family... but of course it's a different part of the plant. Hm.

I had been eating bananas. I seem to do better with 'medium' ripe ones than with those a little too ripe or slightly greenish. I think?

I'm having a lot of lemon squeezed into water (warm, hot or cold).

The other thing that works with me is very small amounts, not mixed with other foods. I'm not sure how important that is, but at least it helps me figure out what's going on.

Best,

Sara

I meant to add - I've had a few dates. They are reputed to be low in fructose, and they're so sweet, just a couple of them can be very satisfying. When I ate too many, I regretted it (it resulted from breaking Rule # 1, don't get so hungry your judgment is impaired!), but 2 or 3 were fine.

Hope this helps,

Sara
