OUR DAY!!!!!! $%^&*#@(

Post by barbaranoela »

Evening dear peoples--

Started out with going to GYN for my records----changing to female GYN--
What a production~~~~~ had to write a letter requesting records and then I flew to his office and handed it to Claire(the nurse)---

Then we went to Lynns---- she had her birth certificate sent to our house cus FEDX needs a *signature* to deliver it----nobody home @ her house-
This she needs to get a *passport* for when they take the trip that Make A Wish Foundation has given them

When we got there, naturally we took the girls to*LUNCH* cus when they eat---they eat---and now that Kait is eating wowee~~~~~~ $37.00 @ a diner and I had a ham sandwich!!!

Then we went for ice cream----
Then we got back to their house and a note stuck in the door---Kaits *psych* doctor was there----
WELLLLLL-----first of all this child is *HYPER*---her :talk: doesnt shut---Kristyn kept rolling her eyeballz---and she appears to be allergic to one of her meds.---Dylantan---cus she is all broken out--entire face/arms/back and guess I should say whole *body*---red spots and itchy but what the point is that I want to make is that KRIS said U should have called the psych. and told her not to come!!!
WELLLLLL---the words that came outta Kaits mouth would have floored ya--*I dont need any help--its ####'ing mom that whats this and etc!!!
And Kris, god luve this child, says *Kait mommy is doing this for U---to help U--- :BSFlag: pops up!!!! Hold Toledo!!!!

By the time we left there I was a  hyped granny and then we had to hit Walmart to shop--- :censored:

And GRAMPS wants to PAY for her driving lessons :duh: ---so I added---well why not give her the FREAKIN CHECKBOOK!!!!!

A month ago he *had-it* and now he is right back to the same stuff!!!

I think I hit the :banghead: brick wall today----I was really feeling so good and today I went from 10 to 0!!!!!

Well thats it---a day of total unpleasentness--Other than my grandaughter Kris TREATING me to Mango ice cream~~~~~~

To add, dear NORMAN is being perfect---

luv Barbara

Mrs. Columbo,

Sigh. That was a frustrating day, all right, but when you step back and look at the ovedrall situation, ya gotta admit that Kait is acting a lot like a normal teenager, (if there is such a thing as a normal teenager). After all those years of being tied to a hospital bed, so much of the time, she probably has a heck of a lot of frustrations that she has to get out of her system, and she doesn't have near as much time left in which to do it, compared with most teenagers.

Besides, she is probably used to being fussed over for so many years, and she will have to adjust to not always being the center of attention. Kris is apparently already getting past that point, and seems mature beyond her years.

Look at the bright side. At least you were all out and about, and enjoying doing normal things together, and not standing next to her hospital bed, wondering if she will see her next birthday. She'll come around. How could she not, with such wonderful grandparents.

Luv,
Galahad

GALAHAD--your theory

Post by barbaranoela »

Dearest Galahad-----after I let out my *grrrrrrr;s* , I sat back and thought just about the things U pointed out---
I have to say your reasoning hits the *nail* on the head---
Kait has had to put up with alot and perhaps her mouthing is her way of getting rid of her frustrations---

I appreciate your input----and U R right----Im sure there are other teens who just dont say *DARN IT*

Yes, everytime Kris,Lou and I started a conversation Kait immediately hopped in and changed to something else----Perhaps she HAS to learn it isnt all about her---

Thanks, for posting that to me----I needed some up-lifting :bigbighug:

I thought *parenting* was a toughie but being a grams/gramps can be a :mallet: too----

And this to shall pass~~~~ right?

OH----I forgot, Kait is checking out Colleges that deal with kids that have special needs~~~

My checkbook *closes* @ this point--- :broke:

stay well
keep a smile

Ha ha, I'm laughing about the part where Kait said it was Mom who wanted this psych doc. I was sick one summer in HS (think I was 17) and Mom dragged me to the doc thinking I was pregnant. Doc calls her back later and says "I think its stress and I think you (my mom) are causing it"! Turns out there was an element of a sensitivity to oil based paint and probably early signs of endometriosis there, but anyways. If Kait feels that way, there is probably an element to it that is Mom. AND if that be the case, then for all their sakes, talking to this doc should be good because she needs to vent all this to someone!

I'm so glad to read about her doing better...eating, taking driving lessons. Good stuff.

The Joys of being a parent

Post by Momster »

It doesn't end when the kids grow up, does it?
We just had our 15 year old granddaughter here for three weeks (while she worked at a summer job) and she was a perfect angel, except for being a finicky eater. Then the night she was finished and she and Mom took us out for dinner, she turned into a brat for her Mom. She doesn't swear, but mouths off to her and thinks her Mom is a "nerd".
Lisa says, "how come she's so good for you?" Well, I'm just lucky I guess (plus I know I spoil her rotten).
Anyway, happy to hear Kait is being a normal teenager. Count to ten, Grandma.

Love - Momster :flowersmiley:
