New doctor - Fantastic

Wow! I went to a new doc at UT Southwestern at Dallas yesterday. He is Dr Swaroop, Associate Professor of Gastroenterology. Well, I could not believe my ears. He said they have learned alot about MC in the last ten years, and that he believes that MC is environmental. He told me to eat only Organic meats and veggies etc. and no onions at all. He said he believed I have SIBO and he put me on Cipro for two weeks along with Entocort (which I have been taking for a year). He said that the Cipro would allow me to introduce more foods back into my diet. He said I have to see their nutritionist, which is fantastic, and that she would help me to figure out what to eat etc. to get my weight back on, as I am 101lbs now.

I am so impressed...he knew exactly what I was talking about when I told him I was unable to eat all of these foods.

He also told me that Promethius Laboratories tests are wrong 30% of the time!
As, when I had one, it came back that I had Ulcerative colitis, which I don't. I have MC.

I will let you know how the Nutritionist visit goes, scheduled to see her on Tuesday, next week.

That's great news!! It's always good to hear there are enlightened doctors out there. Did he ellaborate on his theory of MC being environmental? Does he think it's the pesticides/chemicals in the food or bacteria?

Hi, no he did not elaborate, as there was too much to tell him. He did say, "have you seen the sheen that is on meat at the grocery store". He said all these chemicals are making us sick.

That's great you were able to find such an informed doctor, that's certainly not normal experience.

I wish my GI was like that! I live in NW Louisiana...maybe it would be worth the 4 hour drive????

I would like to know what the nutritionist says.
