I don't have seasonal allergies at all. Never did. I vaguely recall the mold allergy being more pronounced in my sister. Maybe they just made me go along with her to make it "fair." It was a tropical climate and the house was probably full of molds. I sneeze occasionally from lots of dust, but my only real allergy is to nickel.

Zizzle--

I started allergy shots at four years old and had them for seven more years. I really can't say that I derived any benefit from them, as I still struggle every year with severe allergies. Of course, I also live in Georgia, where the pollen count gets freakin' astronomical....

I do eat local, raw honey. I also take Allegra, and use Rhinocort nasal spray. I would love to be able to do without the nasal spray, but unfortunately I suffered a broken nose and if I don't keep the nasal passages clear I will literally have fluid leaking from my ears.

I don't blame you at all for not wanting your child to go through the shots. I remember them as a painful, traumatic experience. Plus, my mean older sister would always punch me in the arms as soon as I got home!!!

On a lighter note, my allergist's name was...Dr. Tinkleman!!!

The Metanx that I take to treat peripheral neuropathy seems to minimize my pollen allergies, probably due to the megadoses of methylfolate, (which is a metabolite of folic acid), that it contains, but molds still eat my lunch.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
