The Party

Post by kate_ce1995 »

...is over and done with and was a success. We were in a bit of a panic this morning to get things done, but it went off very well.

Geoff started the toast to his parents. He actually started crying...nice to see a softer side of him...he usually tries so hard to be macho. His Dad is a big softy though too. Both his parents were crying through the toast.

It was also really nice that his Mom's sister was able to come out from Wisconsin and we kept that a secret so she stayed with us last night and then went down to help Geoff's mom get ready for today. They are the only living family each other has without their spouses sides of things.

A few close friends are still talking out visiting, the brothers have taken most of the tables and chairs back to church where we borrowed them from, and the grandkids and one of Geoff's cousins are in the hot tub.

I'm very tired and will be glad to get a chance to relax later.

 Sounds like a wonderful get together for all concerned.

So glad it was a success.

Sounds like it was a wonderful affair and you did a great job! I bet they really appreciated it.

Now you can relax and get some much needed rest!
