Kari - the snaps sound delicious, I can't wait.

What brand of vitamins have you found is tolerable? I am using a B-complex from Bluebonnet, Carlson D-drops, and NatureMade B-12 (which I had pre-MC, and may replace when next vitamin shopping). I also take Rhodiola, and am experimenting with a new Vitamin K. I'm having a rough allergy season without my usual nettles, but suspect them as a potential aggravant to possible mast cell issues. As a longtime supplement appreciater, it's been interesting to lock down that cupboard in my kitchen as well.

Marliss - yes, they are!

Other than the allergies, I was feeling so good today, I took a chance on my allergy herb after all (nettles). So far, so good... it doesn't work like old-fashioned Benadryl at knocking out symptoms, but if I can take it steadily for a few days, it might get me past the worst. I was doing fine, and then One More Tree started throwing pollen around.

I find I'm drinking tons more fluids again, and craving sweetness as I almost never do. How to correlate that with sneezing, I have NO idea.

This means that whatever whacked me out, that I was blaming on the nettles... that was something else, still lurking out there undetected.

My mom had allergies - and I've been assuming my celiac gene was from her. But actually, there's autoimmune stuff on both sides. (Well, yes, the *other* DQ2 gene obviously came from my dad...)

Feeling unusually energetic, for allergy season. Either that's great news, or a new symptom, lol...

Rich - good to hear from you - hope you're doing well - I agree totally about the EB. I use it on my rice snaps with many of my meals in lieu of the bread and butter I was always fond of.

Sara - here is the info. on my vitamins:

For B, I use a liquid sublingual which contains 10 mg B6, 400 mcg Folic Acid and 1,000 mcg B12. It is distributed by Newflower Farmers Markets in Boulder, CO (1-866-890-8949). Other ingredients listed are Vegetable Glycerin, Deionized Water, Natural Flavors (which I was told is Raspberry only).

For D I use Freeda Vitamins Inc. which I ordered on line (I believe Gloria or Polly told me about them) - just noticed that their address is in Long Island City - LOL. I use the 3000 IU.

Thanks, Kari - had you known Freeda was in your backyard, you could have stocked up before you moved to Colorado.

I like the idea of a liquid sublingual. In the past, I used to switch my vitamin formulations, on the theory that some companies would be better at one aspect versus another. Now I'm more concerned about tolerability than anything else. But maybe it will balance out.

Are you waiting to experiment with transdermal magnesium till after your trip? (It sounds as though you're at a good point of equilibrium, and it would be nice to keep it there for a while before expanding the experiment.)

Which Earth Balance variety are you using? (I think if I brought home something butter-like, my husband would do backflips of joy.)

Sara - I bought liquid magnesium a while back and have used it twice at night when the restless legs syndrome kicked in (pun intended :)) - it seemed to work well, so I will definitely bring it along and use it on the long plane ride. As for the EB, I buy the soy free - it's slightly more expensive, but worth it for peace of mind.

Yep, the soy free kind of butter spread. You can get it at , Sara. Be careful to read the label because they make several varieties and the labels are similar.

Kari, I am (knock on a lot of wood) feeling the best I have felt in a couple years. The perseverance may paying off for me as well. So what do you know, this board may actually be right :grin:

I'm just delighted to hear you're feeling good. It's not the gold at the *end* of the rainbow, because this is an ongoing journey - but it sure is wonderful.

Congratulations on making this happen with a demanding job, a full travel schedule, and the general stress of life on the road.

Hi Rich,

That's fabulous news about you doing so well!!!!! There is nothing like reading good news from someone here :grin: . It's so hard to accept and believe that time and patience are needed to give ourselves a chance to heal. Even though I understood this intellectually, it always felt like there was something I should be doing to "speed" the process. Guess each of us has to learn this for ourselves, no matter how many people here tell us:).

I went out to a fabulous restaurant in Boulder last night (Brasserie 1010), and had a great meal of Rainbow Trout - I have been waiting for a reaction, but so far, so good - yeah!!! This marks quite a milestone for me.......
