Hmm, Carrie, I just checked on my Tom's mouthwash, and lo and behold, it listed glycerine in the ingredients. It doesn't seem to bother me if it's indeed made from soy, which is strange, but them perhaps their mouthwash doesn't ever use soy to make the glycerine. I would never had even thought about that being a possibility!
Thanks for the heads up. I will investigate this as soon as I can.
Yours, Luce

I use the Sonicare toothbrush also and have for quite a few years. Flossing is absolutely essential but the Sonicare helps a lot.

You could always try using neem. A Neem stick is guaranteed to be free of gluten, dairy, soy etc..

Can those of you who are g/f, d/f, and s/f please tell me what toothpaste you use? I've been using Tom's of Maine because it is SLS-free and helps me avoid all the things in the Balsam of Peru group (flavorings and scents) which I'm also allergic to, but from reading this thread I see it has soy in it. I'm starting to wonder if this is the one source of soy I just may leave alone. I suppose there are some products that probably contain SOMETHING you are allergic too. While the toothpaste goes into my mouth, I don't swallow it. I'm not up to inventing my own line of toothpaste.

Hi Arlene,
I am extremely sensitive to gluten and have had no problem with plain old Crest or Tom's of Maine. I don't swallow it and just use it on my dentures so it is not a problem for me.

I've been using the Nature's Gate because it doesn't have fluoride in it (thyroid issues). I can't yet afford a water filter that takes fluoride out of the water. My teeth are about the only part of me that I don't worry about because I've been blessed with very strong teeth, as have my children.
Maybe I will just go with my Sonicare that I have used for many years, water and dental floss. I've gotten used to not having the strong mint taste after brushing, since the Nature's Gate doesn't have a strong taste. Hmm....
But I also would like to know if anyone comes up with a GF/SF toothpaste.
