Hm...somehow my post didn't get posted. I probably hit the wrong button. Doc says ok to be on prednisone (found this interesting considering the thread talking about adrenals). So for one more week, 10 mg. Prednisone. It stopped the D in it's tracks. Hopefully it will give my gut some much needed time to heal while I'm on it and then when I come off of it, even if I'm not completely norman, hopefully it won't be as bad. So one more week, then down very slowly to 5 mg. Doctor doesn't mind me taking 5 mg. as much, but even that he doesn't want to be long term. I don't want to take it long term either, but I felt like I had no other option open to me. So, still GF, DF, and as SF as I can get, but there's soy in almost everything. Eating pretty carefully, and I'll see how I do. I've had some pretty norman's since I started the Pred. last weekend.

I'll keep you posted, sorry I didn't update sooner, but I was gone all week, I'm only home until tomorrow and then will be gone until Friday.

Sounds good. As long as it works - that's what counts.

Thanks, Tex. I hate prednisone. I've had to use it over the years due to the Lupus. But it's never fun to be on (like any drug is). It frankly kind of scares me thinking of what it's doing to my body. But everything was flaring, not just the LC. My fibro has been super active this summer, I've been having skin problems, so I know the Lupus is flaring, as well as joint problems, swelling, ect. So the Prednisone will be good for a while.

Does anyone else here have Lupus as well as MC? I wonder how often they go hand in hand.

Doctor was also VERY interested in the fact that I started the Arimidex (for the breast cancer) in October 2007 and these symptoms really started raging in December 2007. He didn't say to go off of it, but I have to see him again next week and I think he was going to think on it.

The problem is that anything else I take, in the same type of drug I think will probably cause the big D also. So we'll see.

Thanks to everyone for all of your AMAZING support. You can probably imagine how down I was two weeks ago. I was just ready for life to end, although I wouldn't ever do anything to end it myself, I was sure tired of living the way I was.

I hope this Prednisone helps me heal.

Waiting patiently for March 2011, so maybe I can get generic Entecort here in the states that I can afford!

MulkeyJ I'm glad that you are getting some relief from the D with the prednisone. As far as Lupus and other autoimmune diseases and MC, it has been found that when an individual has one autoimmune disease, the likelihood goes up in developing another. It would not surprise me at all to find that there are others with a similar disease pattern to yours.

It sounds like you have been through quite a bit and I hope that your relief from MC continues with the use of prednisone.

Take care

Yes, we have other members with Lupus, but most of them no longer post. Some have found that by following the diet, after their MC went into remission, their Lupus symptoms were either much improved, or disappeared altogether. Hopefully, your Lupus will go into remission, also.

As you are aware, I, too, agree that there is a very good chance that the Arimidex played a major part in the development of your MC and other autoimmune disease symptoms, but as with all medications, you and your doctor had to weigh the benefits against the risks, and do what you thought was best. Sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose, but we usually learn more from our losses, than we learn from our wins, so even the bad experiences help to improve our odds of winning, in the long run.

You sound so much better - you really had us worried for a while, there. Please keep us posted.
