Hi Radar and welcome:

If, in the end, you decide to, or have to, give up gluten to get better, please know that it is not as bad as one might think. I , too, was mind-boggled and very sad at the thought of it, and how it would impact my life. But we are lucky to be embarking on this now and not ten years ago, because today there are many, many good GF products available, and more coming on the market every day. Just about anything you are used to eating, like bread, pancakes, waffles, pasta, donuts, cookies, gravy, cereal, etc. can be made without wheat. So rather than it being that you have to give up eating all these things, it is more a matter of making adjustments and changing how you make or buy them. Granted, it is more expensive to buy the GF products. I find I can make a lot of them at home, and sometimes it is necessary for me to do this, as I seem to be intolerant of many of the common ingredients they use for flour substitutions , like corn, tapioca or potatoe flours. But if you are lucky, and can tolerate these other grains/seeds, you can just eat the premade things. I live in the boonies too, in southern British Columbia, Canada, but even one of our two little grocery stores here is starting to bring in GF products, and of course, if you are fortunate enough to have a health food store, they will very likely at least have the rice pasta. Apparently the best brand of pasta is Tinkyada.

I wish you all luck in finding out what is wrong. It does sound like MC to me too, though. I didn't have much pain or nausea either.
