Thank you Gac for sharing your experience. This thread has been very helpful. I might add that after a lifetime of occasional whack-a-mole symptoms that would pop up as migraines, mild asthma, mild arthritis, sporadic angio-edema and colitis all of which would spend a week or a month with me and then go away; diarhea came with a vengence and stayed. It took doctors 11 months to diagnose MC. I refused the last colonosospy, sigmoidoscopy, and endoscopy. I had been through two previous colonoscopies and many, many test and several trips to the emergency room to restore fluid balance. Had my doctor not been persistent I still would not have a diagnosis. After the colonosospy, he reported back that he found nothing. I went home sicker and more discouraged. The biopsies came back a week later and treatment started. I did extremely well on budesonide and a gluten free and dairy free diet but I am struggling with symptoms that return when I reduce the budesonide from two pills to one a day. I am so glad that I found this forum.
