Hi Everyone!!!

Thanks for the happy birthday. And I am home. I just got back from Ohio, and drove right into the blizzard back home. That was fun (not). We are getting hammered right now.

Taking a snow day tomorrow to eat my cake. Mom made a GF/DF/SF cake.

Love you all!

Rich

Marliss,

Well I'll be... Happy birthday to you too, fellow Aquarian.

Regards,

Rich
P.S. Get anything good for your bday? I'm treating myself to bi-focals (ugh).

Marliss,

I'm sorry, but how in the world was I supposed to know that it was your birthday? Not being clairvoyant, the only clues that I have to go by are what you enter in your profile. You can hide your age, but you have to allow the system to display your birth date, so that it can post your birthday at the bottom of the index page, as a reminder for me, (and anyone else who wants to see it - except that birthdays are not visible to non-members, nor to anyone who is not logged in). Or, you can enter your birthday in the Birthday Room, (but in that case I have to add it to a reminder list that I keep, using the "Note" feature), so naturally, I much prefer to have the system automatically remind me, by means of the info listed in the profile data. You might have mentioned it in a post, somewhere, but that's not likely to register in my brain, as official birthday information.

We used to have someone who always took care of the "Birthday Room", and she posted birthday announcements, but since she no longer regularly posts, I'm kinda stuck with the job, ( hint, hint - )

Happy birthday, though.

Tex

Rich, I've been in bifocals for a while now. I have progressives, which I joke are quad-focals because I look under them to see the really close-up stuff, lol. I buy them online, which means they cost about 20% of what they do in the optical shop.)

I got a neat book on Scot's cooking (a reprint of a very old cookbook) and among some of the truly weird stuff my ancestors ate, I found a gluten-free dessert recipe that looks delicious!

Tex, I don't know what the glitch is, but I've had my birthday in my profile for three months now, but I don't have the year. Could that be why it didn't show up for you? It's not a big deal, my friend.

No, I checked your profile, and in the Date of Birth Public Display Options: catetory, your selection is Display nothing, which prevents the server from displaying any of your birthday information. It may not be a big deal, but as you can see, your family/friends like to post birthday greetings when you have a birthday.

Thank you! Now I won't forget, (unless I forget to check the birthday notice on the main page, which sometimes happens.)
