Anna the skin test will not look for these issues. This really is a localized reaction in the gut. Now it should be mentioned there are studies that show that if not addressed the gluten intolerance in MC can become celiac disease. At that point it can be measured in the blood. By addressing this now you can avoid that possibility

Anna for the most part this is a fairly new disease that doctors are just learning about and in this case with MC the group here has the best and most practical knowledge anywhere. I was lucky that my GI doctor understood the dietary link with MC

Anna its also not known very well in the US with our doctors as well. Until just a handful of years ago MC was only diagnosed in about 9 out of every 100,000 people so a GI doctor may go his whole career and not see a case. The prevalence is now much higher but this is still a 'new' disease and the medical community is catching up.. albeit quite slowly.

You certainly have found the right place and there are literally thousands of patient hours worth of experience here. Many have been dealing with this for over 10 years, and have developed techniques in dealing with this disease through in some cases require no medications, just dietary controls. Others are able to use medications for a period of time to settle things down and then can stop the medications and manage MC with diet only.

Be sure to keep us up to date on how you are doing we all learn from each other, which is what makes this group so special.

Take Care Anna

WElcome Anna,

Well you have received a lot of great advice so far and diet - for me and many others - was the key to feeling better. Please do search around the site and your English is just fine.

Dear Anna

Welcome from Hong Kong. Your English is good. You have got a lot of good advice already. This disease is difficult to understand. But the more you read here the more you will understand. There is more knowledge here on MC than in all medical universities anywhere in the world.

Best wishes, ant
