I had to wean off Celexa (an SSRI) but seem to be doing OK with Wellbutrin. So, in case your anti-depressant is an SSRI, you might want to discuss that alternative with your doc.

About the anti-depressant
Shortly before I was diagnosed with MC I was diagnosed as Bipolar (the new PC name for manic depression). When it rains it pours! Now I take a mood stabilizer and an antidepressant for BP diagnosis. Both of these drugs are for the diagnosis of BP exclusively. Add in the MC and I really can't say if my antidepressant is working.
I forgot to add that I am REALLY tired all the time. My shrink attributes this to the MC, as the diarrhea depletes me of nutrients. I got a fitness drink to see if that helps with the fatigue. If anyone out there is also BP, any advice would be great. The good news is that my psyche appears to be stable now.
I don't know how to rely to these posts privately, so please forgive the open posts.

Your shrink is correct - MC often causes extreme fatigue. Be careful with fitness and energy drinks, because virtually all of them contain ingredients to which most of us are sensitive.

Have fun on the cruise! I look forward to getting together with you after the holidays for iced tea in Ocala.
Fatigue has been overwhelming with this disease but it gets better. The overwhelming fatigue pushed me on to the Publix rotisserie chicken diet for about 10 weeks. I flat out did not have the energy to cook but I knew I needed protein to heal. So for about 8-10 weeks I had had Publix rotisserie chicken, well cooked green beans, well cooked carrots, nectarines from PUblix fruit department that I would slice and nuke in the microwave to soften, and white rice. I ate a chicken every two days and every Sunday I would make a large pot of carrots and green beans. It would have been healthier if I had baked an organic chicken myself because I know they inject stuff in the chickens but I was too weak to cook. I eliminated all vitamins and supplements at this time. I was kind of eating all day in order to get enough calories in was able to maintain my weight without losing anymore. Homemade chicken soup (without the noodles) would have been good but I flat out did not have the energy to cook.
Prior to starting the Publix chicken diet I had diarreah about 6x per day. Once I went on the Publix chicken diet my diarreah quickly went to once a day in the morning. This went on for weeks but no pain etc and it was really managable. About 8-10 weeks after I was on the Publix rotisserie chicken diet I started getting "ribboning." Had 8 weeks of "ribboning" and then I went on the Entocourt.
I'm doing really well now but am still not out of the woods. My diet is more varied now. I'm eating a lot of meat and fish and vegetables and fruit now. So to answer your question nothing happened really quickly although once I went on the chicken diet I would say within several days my diarreah went down to only once a day and was like that for awhile before it went to ribboning. All of this happened before I found this website. Wish I found it sooner as I suffered for months before.
Hang in there, I remember the fatigue at the time as really being overwhelming, i.e. had to have the boyfriend drive me to PUblix and carry out my chicken. But now 8 weeks later I'm doing significantly better.
Tex is dead on about the energy drinks being problematic. His other comment about staying clear of any food with more than 5 ingredients is also helpful.
What worked for me is just a thought and what worked for me. Everyone will be somewhat different. I thought it might be helpful to share time frames. Getting down to diaarreah just once a day was huge.
