Belle,

In sticking with the scd, are you eating the yogurt? Because very few of us with MC can tolerate casein, the protein in all dairy products. Also if I remember right, the scd allows butter, which again often contains casein. If you're going to do the scd, you might have better results if you avoid those two things.

If beef gives you trouble, you might try lamb or pork or turkey. (Turkey is from a different family than chicken, and many who can't tolerate chicken can tolerate turkey.) You might also try white fish or salmon, both of which are super-easy to steam. Just put it in a skillet with a tiny bit of coconut oil or olive oil, put on a tight-fitting lid, and turn the heat on low. Let it steam until cooked through, and enjoy.

I also recommend that unless you have plenty of weight to spare, you not pass on the potatoes (if you can tolerate them) or other carbohydrates such as sweet potatoes and squash. Many of us find we desperately need the calories we gain from those foods, and from higher-fat veggies such as avocados and coconut (again, assuming you can eat them without too many ill effects).

I am so sorry you are in so much pain. Hopefully you can soon find a combination of a few foods you can tolerate without too much pain, and begin to get some healing.

Thanks,
the problem is on the mRt i tested highly reactive for turkey and coconut and avocado were high yellows so for now i've been trying to avoid them. I'd like to give the scd a chance. i did not feel better when i was off of it and eating just potatoes, sweet potatoes and veal so i am totally confused. i decided i will give it 3 months this time. last time i gave it 6 weeks adn did not feel at all better

Also i forgot to mention that any test i took showed no reaction to casein. not with mrt or enterolab. i stayed off of all dairy for a few months and still no difference so now i added some permitted dairy on this diet
