That's a great attitude to have about the diet. The members here who view the diet as an opportunity to get their life back tend to be much more motivated than those who view the diet as a deprivation. And as you know, motivated people are almost always more successful at accomplishing their goals.

Actually, your GP could order the celiac blood tests for you tomorrow, so that you could get those tests behind you. As Deb pointed out, though, expect negative results on those blood tests, because they fail to diagnose about 15 to 20 cases for every one that they successfully diagnose. They usually won't detect the disease until a patient has been sick for a number of years

OK! My GP has put me back on to Budesonide (steroids - only the pharmacy won't have any until tomorrow) for a couple of weeks until I see the consultant. We discussed the GF option and she insisted that I must stay on my normal diet until I see him. She reckons he will want to camera both ends and do biopsies and if I have gone GF before then they won't get accurate results. I have had colonoscopies before but not the endoscope top end! She said that just because I have had a negative blood test does not rule out either Caeliac or gluten intolerance! She has reassured me that my treatment to date has been fairly conservative and that there are a lot more options. I explained that if I can manage my symptoms through diet rather than pill popping I would prefer that and she totally understands where I am coming from. But she pointed out that the change in my symptoms does need investigation and two more weeks or so will be worth the wait particularly if they find out through the camera tests what is going on! Inccidently today I was on the loo 22 times!!! I had to have a bit of chocolate because I thought I was going to faint! Roll on the 16 July!

As you write more posts, the system will highlight the penguins one at a time as your total post count passes certain levels.

G'nite!
