Polly, it's oral doxy. I balked at using the steroid eye drops but agreed since he gave me the same explanation as you. The pain was so bad I had to try something. It hasn't helped.
I don't wear much in terms of make up and haven't used anything new, so I don't think that is a contributing factor. Although, I'm considering switching to all natural lotions, cleansers, shampoo, etc. just because its worth a try. My son has dreadlocks so thevshampoo is already in the house. It will be hard to get used to no lather. My hair is so thin I have to use hairspray which I find difficult to remove with that type of shampoo- never feels totally clean.
Charlotte- thanks for the suggestion. I'm not sure if if I'd have the patience to make it or not. I'll have to try it first. There's no dairy at all? I know for sure that dairy isn't my friend. I've not had increased D issues but always get a nasty belly ache. Living in Wisconsin, it's hard to decline all the varieties of cheese. It's soo good.
I don't think I'll be giving up my jasmine rice but may try limiting it. There's so few things on my menu right now. It was also recommended to have a hair analysis done to see where I'm at. I don't know how dependable the test is but considering my diet and malabsorption issues, it may not be a bad idea. However, it's doubtful if the test would be covered under health insurance.

I had also heard like Gabes said that rice is anti-inflammatory which is why so many of us do so well with it. I switched over to jasmine rice a few month's ago and I seem to be doing very well with it. That's one grain I hope I will never have to give up. Plus it's easy to digest.....so I've read. I need to cut down on it as well but will wait a little while. Simply nothing I can replace it with just yet. It would be nice if I could eat more veggies with a meal and lower the rice intake. As for coconut yogurt, I've been searching for it at my local grocery store but haven't found any. I haven't looked into whether any of the other stores have it or not. I will not make my own. I'm sure eventually I'll find one but then it will have too much sugar in it or something. Can't win for losing.
