Claritin just didn't help with my nasal allergies and Zyrtec made me sleepy. I began taking Zyrtec at night before bed and it works well. To get control of worsened Spring allergies I've been trying Rx Patanase with good results, no nose bleeds.

Leah,

Did you try Allegra? I tried Claritin first then switched to Allegra and that worked better for me...

This condition is predictably unpredictable. Just when you think you've got it under control, it turns around and bites you in the ass.

Take care.

Thank you, Linda and Leah! And thanks for the heads up about the lactose and mannitol, both sensitivities for me. I'll give the Allegra a whirl and see what happens.

Beth,

Start with half, as I am doing. I did feel a little jittery the first day, but then it was gone.

Good luck and let us know how it goes for you!

Can I ask one more question about dosages? It seems like it might be wise to try taking Zyrtec and Allegra together to really hit the mast cell issue. How much zyrtec is good to try - 75 mg? 150? Thanks!
