It's probably a combination of factors. That's one of the reasons why a flare is often so difficult to resolve.

Hi,
I had stopped my CaMag supplement to limit any variables contributing to D and I believe it helped... been some time now and noticed a bit of muscle cramps and overall less deep sleep. I'm looking for a reliable transdermal Mag or lotion and want to continue the epsom bath soaks.
I saw the recipes for DIY versions-- any suggestions for the best topical or lotions or transdermal to purchase?
Also, for the soaks, how many per week would be recommended?
Thanks so much!

Hi Jacqueline,
Many people use Ancient Minerals magnesium oil, but there are cheaper brands that probably work just as well. Dosing can depend on how well you absorb it and various other conditions, but in general, it takes quite a few applications each day in order to absorb very much magnesium. It's an inexact science. In order to get very much magnesium, foot soaks would probably need to be done each day, but I would think that 2 or 3 bath soaks per week should be more beneficial.
Personally, I've only used the sprays, so I don't have any experience with baths or foot soaks.

Yogti Magnesium Oil
I found this brand on Amazon and I really like it. No stinging, itching or sticky residue. Very nice and potent. 10 sprays provides 206 mg of magnesium.
