Armstrongpilot,

I have been on Budesonide since around the 1st of July. I started with 9 mg and just a couple of months ago, dropped it down to 6 mg. for about 3 weeks or so, and then 3 mg. for another 3 weeks or so, and then 3 mg every other day until I got to now and I'm taking it every 3rd day.

Budesonide never ever masked the symptoms of any food for me. I guess it does for some people, but it didn't me. It really just jumpstarted my way back to health in a quicker way.

From the very beginning, I took about 6000-8000 iu's of Vitamin D3 and used the spray magnesium. Just in the last month, I started taking the Doctor's Best magnesium.

I just in the last week started taking the B vitamins. Too many supplements while you're trying to heal can cause more problems than you need. I only did Vitamin D3 and the magnesium spray for about 6 months.

In all that time since I cleaned up my diet and started taking Budesonide, I've never had any more diarrhea until the other day when I ate little chunks of hazelnuts (and trust me, I won't do that again!).

I had heartburn (the worst in the world) before my diagnosis and before restricting my diet (no gluten, soy, dairy, or egg), and just a few days into my diet, the starting of Budesonide, and the upping of my Vitamin D3, it was totally gone.

I ate only chicken, rice, and a banana for almost 3-4 months before I tried anything else. It worked for me, calmed my gut, and helped me get some good healing. If you find some foods you can eat well, just stick with them. You'll be able to add more things after you heal a little bit.

Hi ArmstrongPilot,

When you decide to taper off the Budenoside, make sure that you do it the "right" way, i.e. real slowly. From 1 tablet every second day for 30 days, to 1 tablet for every third day for 30 days, and 1 tablet every fourth day for 30 days, and so on. This is a good way to avoid "back lashes".

Increasing intake of Magnesium - spreading at least 400-600 mg during the day with meals, and take vitamin D3 up to 10.000 i.u. a day, and I think you will experience a difference in 4-6 weeks.

Vitamin D3 and Magnesium are the two supplements one should concentrate on during the hard times. After having experienced some remission, one can consider supplementing with the active forms of B6, B9 and B12, together with vitamin C.

Best of luck,
