HI Terre,

I will have to say that oral hormones may be your biggest culprit in the MC world. I have called all the manufacturing companies that CVS Caremark uses that my Dr. can prescribe from and ALL of them had Soy in them. If one has done the Enterolab testing and they know their soy intolerance then it convinces one to take the right course by eliminating all hormones. Dr. Fine also says that after clinical reviews and testing all hormones need to be stopped because they contribute to MC flare and a person will not heal completely. I can't say what a compounder could do because my Dr. wouldn't prescribe that situation for me and that ticked me off to go find my own resources.

After 8 months I have come across Pregnenolone with all safe ingredients (no gluten, dairy, soy or egg) I am experimenting with 10mg of it daily at this time as I am 48 and had to completely leave my hormones behind last August, but I started having normal bowel movements quickly thereafter proving it was my hormones that was keeping me from remission. I was afraid of the hot flashes, and sleeping issues but did it anyway....what I learned was by increasing my VitD3 and between applying external and ingesting Magnesium in the amounts of 500-700mg a day I wasn't having nearly the debilitating side affects of low hormones that I thought I would.

Right now I am taking around 700mg of elemental Magnesium a day and only notice a few fleeting hot flushes and seem to sleep pretty good. I also think I have been healing with the right diet changes too. I appreciate Gabes directing you to my story...it definitely hits a lot of points that MC takes us.

I hope you find your balance soon...keep asking questions! I'm finding it doesn't matter how long you have been a member or when you last had a flare they all matter and they all feel different when they come about.
Cheers
Erica

i too had sensitive teeth and gums
once i fixed the vit d3 and magnesium deficiency, reduced inflammation in my body, had troublesome teeth removed (as they were causing excess bacteria etc) healed my gut, i no longer have sensitive teeth.

I use a paste called earthpaste which is made on similar ingredients to Jeans recipe - avoiding chemicals, fluoride, is more important to my ongoing health

Erica and Gabes, thank you for your posts.

I do not take hormones due to "menopause symptoms", as I'm well past those issues. I take them to correct another issue that would be TMI for site members. I will definitely discuss going off of them at my April appointment.

Erica, I am reading through your posts and greatly appreciate what I've learned thus far. Since it's a long post, I've not made it all the way through just yet.

Gabes, very interesting that you know longer have sensitive teeth since....I hope to get to that point of healing!

Thanks to you all,
Terre

terre wrote:Tex, before taking oral hormones, I was getting them compounded and I rubbed a small amount on the inner part of my upper arm. I went to oral medication due to the fact that my insurance wouldn't pay for the compounded.

How would I find out about the CPE component of the compounded formulation.....or even the cream version?

I now look forward to having a discussion with my Gyno doctor in April to see what my options are.

Thanks so VERY much.

Our pharmacist is our best source of information about any medications or their ingredients, especially when we have special sensitivities and we are taking numerous medications for various issues. Pharmacists are far more knowledgeable about medications than any clinician could ever hope to be. One of our currently-posting members is a pharmacist. His username is BearcatRx. You may have seen his posts. I'm sure that he wouldn't mind answering any questions you might have about CPEs or any other ingredients in your meds, and you could keep it private by sending him an email or a PM (private message). There are links for sending him an email or a PM at the bottom of all of his posts (just as there are links for sending me an email or a PM at the bottom of all my posts).

Thanks for the information Tex. This is something I would certainly like to get an answer to.....that way I might be able to do something before April.
