relief to know it was not the iodine persay....
maybe the combo of synthethic form and the actual iodine clearing toxins explains the symptoms
The good part of this - and well done to you for your hard work, your digestion is ok!
hang in there... its about progress not perfection..

Yes, the Iodoral did not upset my digestion, and after being off of it for 3 days I have no pains either.
I'll let my body rest for a period, and then try the Life Flo version. It seems that this product is "clean" and has no additives.

Lilja,
My iodine level was very low last year, too.
I supplement with sea vegetables, just as Jean does, and I haven't had an issue with it at all....and I am a highly sensitive person to everything I put in my body.
Just wanted to chime in with my experience.

Linda,
I bought Wakame and Arame sea vegetables. It was awful, both to the smell and to the taste, and I come from a place in northern Norway, founded on fishing, so I'm used to be around fish, the sea and the smell. We were eating fish for dinner 6 times a week when I grew up. But this was impossible to eat.
Maybe I should go home and harvest some fresh sea vegetables from the north Atlantic, because the fresh ones taste really good :-)

Lilja,
Oh my....that reminds of me of when I first bought fish oil supplements, and they made me burp a fishy taste & it was awful!!
This is the brand of sea vegetables I use....I use the Dulse.....I usually put it on a salad.

PS ....harvesting your own is a great idea!!!! I'll bet it's time consuming, though!

Re: Iodine Deficiency
I have disturbing over-salivation. I had it back yonder as a teenager and early twenties. It was so bad that my saliva went to the back of my ear and stung like heck. I was put on a Demerol patch that made me sick! Now it's returned.
I have always heard it was good for the teeth. I mentioned this to my dentist yesterday and he said, "most of what I see is dry mouth." I was having a diabetic low and did not make much sense, but I got no help.
What do we do if we can't find anything? We head to the internet. They mentioned Parkinson's Disease and taking out your salivary gland. I will not have my salivary gland removed. I guess it's back to the doctor for a patch. I am spitting in my Kleenex right now. It's driving me crazy.
I don't use Iodine.
