Glad I don't fit into that list  but thanks for the heads up.

And thanks for the Bubbies report: I'll look into that, too.

Darn!!! Made a special trip to Whole Foods tonight to get me some Bubbies sauerkraut and kosher dill pickles. (On their website it said that Bette Midler loves their kosher dills so much that she buys them by the case and gives them to friends as gifts).

You guessed it! No Bubbies sauerkraut or pickles in the entire store! Was told to come back Sat. when the new shipment arrives - they're often gone within a day or two. I'll have to try again. At least Scott was able to get his favorite Sharon's sorbets - blueberry and coconut. And I did pick up the latest issue of Living Without, which has some yummy looking recipes.

Love,

Polly

Hi Lucy,

Sorry for the late response but I have been crazy here at work.

I am not sure why is bothers me so but do know that I have to be very careful with sulfites - although wine does not do me in. LOL

I think my system just cannot digest the structure of the kraut.

Love, Maggie

Polly,

I just e-mailed Bubbies to ask about the presence of sulfites in their products.
Perhaps I'll get an answer by next week.

Have you ever ordered something at the service desk there in Whole Foods? There are a few things that I purchase regularly that they often run out of, so that's why I really need to order ahead, and just pick up the items when I shop there next. They'll even call to tell you when your order is in. I'm pretty certain that your special order won't come until their regular stock, but this assures you'll get yours.

For instance, I find that they sell out of those peanut rice bars by Envirokids long before the other flavors sell out. I'm sure that this is because so many people are also sensitive to the same contents in those that I am. I've tried to help them to realize that they need more additional rows of that, and fewer rows of the other due to this problem, but thus far, I've seen no response to my suggestion. Guess that's what I get for trying to help!

Actually, I think that my sister's might've been the one buying some of them up, but I think she sorta burned out on those for breakfast after a while, so must be the other people buying those now. Also, don't think they get orders on those as often as one might think. There stuff doesn't come in as frequently as regular store's products do, apparently.

By the way, Polly, did I mention previously that I'd purchased a couple of those little men made out of maple sugar? Gave one for my sis and bil to taste, and Mom and ah shared the other. Now, everytime I go in there, I'm tempted to buy a case! I was surprized that I liked it so much as I usually don't like really, really sweet things. Perhaps I should find some maple sugar to have a little in my colored water coffee for a treat once in a while, especially since I don't often have a dessert.

Eager to try out mixing the sauerkraut with potattoes and the other ingredients too. I never would've thought of adding all those things Polly mentioned, and thought the roast idea Matthew had sounded delicious!

Thanks!
Yours, Luce
