Christine,
I agree that you might need to check the C-diff again, unless you're having substantially normal BMs.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

thanks :)
Thanks, peoples :)
Carrie, that's a good idea.. usually it does take forever to get in - I guess I was under the impression (way back in the cobwebby corners of my brain) that it wouldn't take that long because last time they were able to get me in within a month; however at that time I did have the C Diff infection and for that reason, they put a rush on it. I'll call them today, if I get time. Please remind me if I don't mention that I did make an appointment?? My work schedule is HECTIC to say the least and I often forget things!!!!
Yeah, maybe I should get the C Diff checked out again. I'm not having consistent BMs of ANY type.. one day solid, one day liquid, most are somewhere in between but ALL are continually tissuey. NUMMY. Last time, all I did was poop in a tupperware and take that in LOL. maybe I'll just do that again. My GP's office has to call me for other reasons sometime this week and when they do, I'll try to remember to mention that..

Christine-
I'm so sorry you are not feeling well. You are getting some good information here. As a former C-diff sufferer I can honestly say the month I was being treated with Flagyl I was the sickest and in the most pain of my life!! Thankfully it did resolve more quickly than it has for you and I've never been in that bad place again - and that was before any board existed - I was lonely and miserable....
My MIL has worked as a nurse in the Twin Cities area for 45 years....right now she is p/t at an ENT surgery center (*tonsil & tubes* she says) but I would be happy to ask her if she can recommend a good GI if you want a name....
We WILL help you find an answer!!

LOL Sure, Mary :)
Let her know I've already been to MN Gastroenterology, which is the most well-known around here, specifically Dr. Ganz (he is the one who basically just said "there is no cure, you shouldn't have any pain, and you'll just have to deal with this for life") , and I've also seen Dr. Lushine (he is the one who called Dr. Fine's tests "black magic"). As far as I know, there aren't very many left in the Twin Cities area, but hey, I'm willing to try anything..
So which clinic does your MIL work at if you don't mind my asking? Trent (hubby) is in need of some serious care regarding his apnea and I would assume this falls into the EENT category.
The Flagyl almost killed me too.. being alone thru that would absolutely SUCK. I seriously thought I was going to DIE. They switched me to vancomycin and that was much better but not great. EVENTUALLY it killed the C Diff.
Anyway, I have issues to work on obviously LOL Eventually I'll have my ducks in a row!!!

Hi Christine. You asked me to remind you about contacting Dr. Pardi. Please keep us posted. ((((hugs Carrie))))Carrie wrote:Christine, re your GI's. I see that you live in Minnesota. Have you ever been to the Mayo Clinic? They are rated #1 in the country for digestive disorders. Also, if you were to go there, you also could be seen by others - eg. GYN - and all the docs could confer with one another. That's how it's done at Sloan-Kettering in NYC for cancer patients - a multi-disciplined approach.
There is a GI at Mayo who specializes in CC and LC. His name is Darrell Pardi (click here http://www.mayoclinic.org/gi-rst/12035106.html ). In all of my googling on the internet, he's the only GI I've found who lists CC, LC or MC as a special interest.

LOL
Wow!!! Thanks Carrie, I did NOT remember, because I'm so NOT good at remembering! This comes with perfect timing too, because I talked with my GP yesterday.
I'd left them a message, stating I was having trouble sleeping due to the pain, and that I thought I might have fibro, because of my muscle/ligament aches/pains lately - my knee is the most RECENT addition to this - and she called me back yesterday and basically said there's nothing else they know to do! She would give me something to help me sleep, which I declined, but doesn't know what else to do for my pain, and feels it's solely dietary. That is SO frustrating!!!!
So I will call Dr. Pardi's office today..
Thanks again, Carrie!!
