You are so right on Polly. I'm 5'7" and tipped the scale at 188 at my DX. Today I weigh 135 and have maintained that for a year. I was at my leanest a year ago @ 130 (very physically active that summer) so technically that was a total weight loss of 58lb and it took just a little over a year to lose the weight. Pretty amazing huh?Polly wrote:Hi Katy!
Now, about losing weight - I saw a post where your goal is to lose weight before your wedding. I am here to tell you that there is no way you CANNOT lose weight on this diet. Right, Joanna?
So, not only have I been able to control my CC symptoms by diet, also experienced an added bonus of consistant and safe weightloss. Initially, I focused on GF (never got into buying gluten free products) for the first 6 months and began losing right off the bat. Then honed in on a more Paleo approach to eating by eventually eliminating dairy, grains, processed foods and such. I think what may have contributed most to my weightloss was no-gluten & no-refined sugars. It's a very healthy diet- I feel great.
Hey Katy Congratualtions! Whens the wedding?
That a pretty inspiring list isn't it? Yes, I've tried bison and like it. My mighty hunter is heading to MN for deer next week. With all the wild game here I think it's crazy for him to make this annual trip and fly meat back but it's a guy thing.Joanna, that list you shared earler was so helpful to me in thinking about the more unusual foods that we can eat. Have you tried bison? I know you eat other wild game. What is your favorite?
Depending on the success of the hunting & fishing season our freezers are usually stocked with moose, caribou, & venision. I like them all equally but what really turns me on is a juicy big fat rare beef steak! Also have salmon, halibut, trout, clams, duck, grouse, pheasant, rabbit.
Making a moose meatloaf for dinner tonight and feeling blessed that our lifestyle supports my way of eating.
Love,
Joanna
